distraught spouse

I feel like a distraught spouse exhausted by people — especially Muslims — trying to accept, modify, critique the values and standards of this confused and hypocritical society without embracing the values and standards established for us by Allah and his messenger.

The numbers. We come of age according to the clock that Allah has placed in our bodies. It’s called puberty. It is not 16 or 18 or 21. In an intelligent and sensible society, children are prepared over the years for the change that is to come, so that when puberty comes they are ready to take on the responsibilities of adulthood. In this society, we are deliberately retarded, so that 21-year-olds are still children, and many of us go to our graves still in our first childhood.

Cheating. How can you cheat? Allah sees all, knows all.
